Here is a rundown of all the news you need to start your Monday, including a gunman opening fire at a church in the US state of Michigan, killing at least four people and injuring eight others, US President Donald Trump saying there is a "real chance for greatness in the Middle East, and the Global Sumud aid flotilla bound for Gaza reaching a point north of Marsa Matrouh on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.

  • At least 4 killed, 8 injured in shooting at Michigan church

At least four people were killed and eight injured when a gunman opened fire at a Mormon church in Grand Blanc Township in the US state of Michigan, police said.

Additional bodies were found in the church, bringing the death toll to four, Grand Blanc Police Chief William Renye told reporters.

There is a total of "five deceased persons from this tragic incident" so far, including the suspect, Renye said, adding he was killed in a gunfight with police.

  • Trump says 'real chance for greatness in the Middle East'

US President Donald Trump said there is a "real chance for greatness in the Middle East."

"All are on board for something special, first time ever," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

"We will get it done," he said.

Following his post, Trump told the Axios media outlet: “The Arab countries were fantastic to work with on this. Hamas is coming with them. They have great respect for the Arab world."

"The Arab world wants peace, Israel wants peace, and Bibi wants peace,” Trump said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding his goal is to push for peace in the region rather than just ending the war in Gaza.

  • Global Sumud Flotilla approaches Egypt’s northern coast, organizers say

The Global Sumud aid flotilla bound for Gaza has reached a point north of Marsa Matrouh on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, its organizers announced.

The fleet is expected to sail within hours to waters north of the city of Alexandria, the International Committee for Breaking the Siege on Gaza said on the US social media company X’s platform.

“We expect the Zionists to commit a war crime against us at any time as we are getting closer to Gaza,” it added.

  • Sertac Sanli joins Dubai Basketball on 1-year contract

Dubai Basketball announced the signing of Turkish center Sertac Sanli until the end of the season.

"Known for his size, skill and leadership, Sanli will bring valuable depth and experience to Dubai Basketball's frontcourt as the club prepares for its historic EuroLeague debut," the UAE club said in a statement.

Sanli, 34, is the first player to win the EuroLeague championship with both Turkish clubs Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce Beko.

  • Marc Marquez wins 2025 MotoGP world championship

Marc Marquez of the Ducati Lenovo Team won his seventh MotoGP world championship title.

The 17th race of the season in motorcycle racing's premier event was contested over 24 laps at the Motegi Circuit in Japan.

Marquez came in second behind his teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who finished in 42 minutes and 09.312 seconds.

The Spanish driver finished the race 4.196 seconds behind Bagnaia, while Honda HRC Castrol's Spanish rider Joan Mir claimed third place, 6.858 seconds off the leader.

Despite finishing runner-up, he secured his seventh career championship title and drew level with Italian motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi on seven titles.
