A high-level military delegation from Bahrain on Saturday arrived in Cairo on a visit during which its members are expected to meet with Egyptian security officials.
The delegation is headed by Gen. Diab Saqr al-Nuaimi, the assistant chief of staff of the Bahraini army for operations, according to sources at Cairo International Airport.
The members of the delegation are expected to meet with Egyptian security officials to discuss issues of mutual concern along with the situation in the region, the sources added.
This is the first time such a high-level military delegation from Bahrain to visit Egypt since Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi took over on June 8.
Ten Arab states, including Bahrain and Egypt, agreed to support an American plan to attack the militant Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant organization, which has overrun major territories in both Iraq and Syria.
