TRIPOLI (AA) - September 21, 2012 - A memorial took place in Libyan capital of Tripoli for the U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens who was killed in Libya recently along with three of his assistants.
The memorial was attended by Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif, Libyan Prime Minister Mustafa Abu Shakur, US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and many high level dignitaries.
Attending the memorial, the Turkish Ambassador in Tripoli, Ali Kemal Aydin said that Stevens was a close friend of his.
"Stevens lost his life in a tragic way. We all felt deep sadness over his demise," Aydin noted.
