NEW YORK
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 has struck northeast of Papua New Guinea on Monday.
US Geological Survey said the earthquake hit about 110 kilometers east-northeast of the town of Taron on New Ireland island and at a depth of 379 kilometers below the earth’s surface.
There are no casualties reported in relation to the quake that struck at 4:35 a.m. local time.
