Magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook Russia

MOSCOW

Magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook eastern Russia on Friday. The earthquake was located in the Sea of Okhotsk.

According to information released by Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the epicentre of the quake was located at a depth of 600 kilometres in the Sea of Okhotsk.
The statement added, the earthquake was felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky which is home to base of nuclear submarine, and on Sakhalin island, where Russia's largest liquefied natural gas project is located.
Initial reports noted, there were no casualties recorded so far.
Sources said, the earthquake which occurred in the Sea of Okhotsk, was also felt in capital Moscow as well as several other Russian cities.
Furthermore, Japan's meteorological agency reported the earthquake as a magnitude of 8.2.
