Azerbaijan’s eastern region of Shamakhi was hit by a magnitude 5.1 earthquake, the country's disaster authority reported on Saturday.
In a statement, the country’s Seismic Services Center reported that the quake occurred in the Shamakhi region at 16.46 local time (1246GMT).
It occurred at a depth of 42 kilometers (26 miles) below the surface, around 115 km (71 mi) away from the capital Baku, the agency added.
No damage or casualties were reported in the region.
