Macedonians celebrate Turkish Language Education Day

SKOPJE (AA) - December 21st Turkish Language Education Day was celebrated in Macedonian capital city Skopje, with a reception. 

Macedonian Turkish Civil Organizations Union (MATUSITEB) hosted the reception with the attendance of President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov, Turkish Ambassador in Skopje Gurol Sokmensuer, Minister of Education and Science Spiro Ristovsky, Secretary of State Hadi Nazir, Vice President of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Mehmet Sureyya Er, President of Democratic Party of Turks and MP Kenan Hasipi, President of Turkish National Unity Movement Party and MP Erdogan Sarac, TIKA President for the Balkans and Eastern Europe Ali Maskan, President of Macedonian Constitution Elena Gosheva, representatives from the municipality, school directors, teachers and businesspeople.

The date of December 21 is being celebrated as Turkish Language Education Day in Macedonia, since the decision taken by the Macedonian government in 2007.
