A union for Lufthansa pilots announced Monday that its members will go on a one-day strike Tuesday at Germany's largest airport.
Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) said in a written statement that its members will not fly any departures from Frankfurt airport between 8:00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m. on long-haul flights on the Airbus A380, Boeing B747, Airbus A330 and Airbus A340.
The union, which represents 5,400 Lufthansa pilots, said management had not offered a viable compromise in a dispute over the company's pension scheme and argued that it had been left with no other option.
