BERLIN
A local newspaper in northwestern German city of Hamburg came under suspected arson attack early Sunday morning, police said.
The Hamburger Morgenposts' archival building was damaged in the attack. Some archival documents were also damaged, but there were no casualties.
Police spokeswoman Karina Sadowsky said some inflammable material was thrown at the building at around 2 a.m.
Firefighters had to be called in to extinguish the fire.
Two suspects near the scene were taken into custody, the spokeswoman added.
Hamburger Morgenpost published Thursday Charlie Hebdo’s cartoons of Prophet Mohammed in solidarity with the French satirical magazine, which suffered a horrific attack on its offices in Paris that left 12 people dead, including its top cartoonists.
