VILNIUS (AA) - Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite and Turkey's Minister for European Union Affairs, Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis on Wednesday talked over Turkey-EU relations, their collaboration in NATO, the latest developments in Syria and Egypt.
Grybauskaite received Bagis who visited Lithuania for the first time after this country took over EU's term presidency on July 1st.
Regarding the meeting, Lithuania presidency said in a statement that Grybauskaite described Turkey as a strategic partner for Lithuania, in EU and NATO.
Grybauskaite pointed out that Turkey has played a significant role to provide stability in the Middle East.
The statement also highlighted that Lithuania has supported Turkey's EU accession process and sided with continuation of negotiations.
