The last nuclear reactor in Japan was reportedly closed.
A statement by Kansai Electricity Power Production Company stated that the process for the closure of the reactor 4 at the Ohi Plant in west Japan had begun and the reactor will stop producing electricity as of Monday.
All nuclear reactors in Japan were closed after the tsunami in 2011 due to the damage on Fukushima Nuclear Plant. However, Japanese Fukushima Nuclear Plant Operating company Tokyo Electricity Production Cooperation (TEPCO) permitted the reactor in Ohi in July last year.
