ROME
The economically-strapped Italy's Premier-appointee, Matteo Renzi, the 39-year-old secretary of the center-left Democratic Party (PD), announced the country's new broad coalition consisting of 16 ministers, half of whom are women.
Renzi, who had been serving as Florence mayor, but was assigned early this week by President Giorgio Napolitano to form the new government after the resignation of the former PM Enrico Letta on February 14, had a three-hour meeting with the president at Letta's palace Quirinale.
After spending a whole week holding talks with the representatives of the parties at the Italian parliament, Renzi submitted the names of the ministers in his new government to Napolitano on Friday, and released them to the public after the meeting.
With the oath-taking ceremony on Saturday at Palazzo del Quirinale, Renzi will be the third straight premier to come into the office without being elected since the 2008 parliamentary elections where Silvio Berlusconi won.
After Berlusconi government, Italy has had to form two new governments, one is the technocrat cabinet led by Mario Monti formed after the 2011 economic crisis and the other is the broad coalition led by Enrico Letta.

Economic Development Minister: Federica Guidi
Agricultural Policies Minister: Maurizio Martina
Environment Minister: Gianluca Galletti
Employment and Social Policies Minister: Giuliano Poletti
Culture Minister: Dario Franceschini
Education, Universities and Research: Stefania Giannini
Reforms and Relations with Parliament: Maria Elena Boschi
Simplification Minister: Marianna Madia
Regional Affairs Minister: Maria Carmela Lanzetta
