RAMALLAH
Israeli policemen on Sunday arrested the correspondent of the Palestine Today TV as she reported Jewish Purim celebrations in central Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the south of the West Bank, channel officials said.
Farouq Elian, head of the channel's bureau in Al-Khalil, said Israeli policemen had accused correspondent Fidaa Nasr of attacking Jewish settlers, a charge he denied.
Purim is celebrated every year on the 14th of the Hebrew month of Adar (late winter/early spring). It commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman's plot to destroy the Jews.
Elian said his channel would follow up developments of the case against Nasr, expecting Israeli police to set her free within hours after interrogating her.
