JERUSALEM
Israel on Sunday arrested five Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem on charges of attempting to burn down a petrol station and a home in an Israeli settlement, Israeli sources have said.
Israel Radio quoted a police statement as saying that policemen had arrested four Palestinians between 15 and 17 years of age, noting that they were suspected in an attempt to burn down an East Jerusalem petrol station a few days ago.
It added that the attempted burning down of the petrol station followed clashes between Israeli policemen and youths in Jerusalem.
An Israeli army source, meanwhile, told army radio that the army arrested a fifth Palestinian who attempted to burn down a home in the northern West Bank Yitzhar settlement.
The source added that the army had taken the man to a center for interrogation to know the motivations behind the alleged attack.
