Islamic social networking site set to launch soon

SARAJEVO (AA) - July 30, 2012 - Salamworld, a social networking site following Islamic principles, is set to launch end of this October which coincides with Eid al-Adha, the Muslim holiday of sacrifice, the site's founder told the Anadolu Agency.

"This is going to be social network where Muslims will not feel disturbed or worry if their children would encounter any offensive content," Abdulvahid Niyazov to the AA during a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Niyazov said the site was aimed at promoting Islamic culture and heritage and at removing ideological, geographic and linguistic barriers between Muslims from different nations.
Niyazov said the site would be based in Istanbul with offices in Moscow, Cairo, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, adding that they targeted to reach 50 million users in three years.
