Iranian president’s visit to Austria cancelled

VIENNA

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Vienna has been cancelled due to security concerns, Austrian presidency announced Tuesday.

According to the presidency, the visit, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, had been postponed by the Iranians.

Rouhani was expected to meet Austrian President Heinz Fischer and Prime Minister Werner Faymann during the visit, which would have paved the way towards improving bilateral ties.
