Iran has received the first batch of S-300 surface-to-air missile defense system from Russia, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported Monday.
“The projectiles indicate that Russia has agreed to sell the S300-PMU2 model to Iran,” the agency said.
In 2007, Iran signed a deal with Russia to buy S-300s, but Moscow cancelled the contract in 2010 under pressure from the West.
In response, Tehran filed a suit to demand Russian authorities to deliver the missiles.
In 2015, Russian President lifted the ban on the missiles delivery to Iran.
