GAZA CITY
Palestinian resistance movement Hamas on Thursday denounced an Israeli government plan to build a Jewish religious school in Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
In a statement, Hamas warned of what it described as Israel's "fierce campaign of judaization" in the holy city.
On Wednesday, the Jerusalem Municipality's organization and construction committee approved construction of the nine-story Jewish school in the Palestinian neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, described the plan as a "crime," going on to condemn the "international silence" that has accompanied Israeli construction in the historic city.
