German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble expressed optimism about reaching an agreement as he arrived at a Eurogroup meeting in Brussels on Friday.
Schauble had, in the past week, been repeatedly critical of a draft agreement between Greece and the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, and the EU, after these institutions negotiated for weeks with the Greek government in Athens.
But Schauble said: "If there is clarity about the Greek economy, and about some unresolved questions, we should be able to reach agreement here today."
