
A 1.6-kilometer long train carrying crude oil derailed causing a series of explosions in Casselton, North Dakota on Monday night, said officials.
The collision occurred after another train carrying grain derailed and the train hauling crude oil crashed into it, according to authorities.
About 10 out of 106 train cars were on fire after the explosion. The town's mayor said there were no casualties in the accident.
Casselton is a small town in North Dakota with about 2,400 residents. Emergency officials have asked residents of Casselton to remain indoors as hazardous materials from the blast could be in the air.
