Egypt's interim Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawi left for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for a one-day visit.
Al-Beblawi is scheduled to meet with a host of senior officials, including Crown Prince Salman bin Abdel-Aziz, to discuss means of promoting political and economic cooperation between the two countries, sources told Anadolu Agency.
He will attend a meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Business Council to discuss attracting more Saudi investments.
Saudi Arabia was among the first Arab countries to welcome the army's ouster of elected president Mohamed Morsi in July.
Egyptian-Saudi relations strained during Morsi's one-year rule.
The oil-rich kingdom has offered billions of dollars in aid for the military-installed interim authorities in Egypt.
Egyptian officials said last week that the government was expecting a new $5-billion aid package from Riyadh.
