Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh met Thursday with a visiting US business delegation to explore means of expanding US investment in the country, Djiboutian diplomatic sources said.
The delegation is led by Dawit Mitchel, vice-chairman of the Venrex investment group's EU office, who said delegation members were interested in exploring high-profile investment opportunities in the Horn of Africa country, the sources said.
The sources also quoted Mitchel as saying that his group was eyeing Djibouti for its strategic location and its maritime ports.
Following the meeting – which was also attended by Abubaker Omar, chairman of the Ports and Free Zones Authority of Djibouti – Mitchel hailed the talks as "fruitful."
