Malawi losing battle against street vendors (photos)

BLANTYRE At the Mibawa bus terminus in Blantyre's central business district a contingent of law enforcers and officials jump out of their moving van at lightning speed and pounce on unsuspecting street vendors selling sweets, cooked groundnuts, fritters, bananas and fresh vegetables.
In the melee, many vendors take to their heels, some spilling their merchandise.
Ghana Muslims welcome freedom of faith commitment

ACCRA Ghanaian Muslims have welcomed a recent presidential directive on respecting the right of freedom of faith as entrenched in the country's constitution, ending years of discrimination. "It is like our prayers have finally been heard," Kausar Mohammed, a nursing student, told The Anadolu Agency.
