China emphasized the importance of maintaining economic and political stability in Ukraine and called all parts involved in the crisis, including Russia and the West, to act with moderation.
China's foreign ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said in a statement on Friday that China respects all countries' independence and territorial integrity.
Hong called for all parties to seek negotiated solutions and to act with moderation, emphasizing the Crimea issue's complex history.
Hong said international financial institutions should maintain economic and financial stability in Ukraine and noted that China will continue to play a "constructive role" in that regard.
