Two car bomb explosions shook the Mazza Street in the Syrian capital on Sunday in an apparent attack on a checkpoint nearby a military airport, killing 12, Shaam News Network said.
Many of Damascus' suburbs are being bombarded by Assad forces, who reportedly used "barrel bombs" in several areas, Local Coordination Committees of Syria (LCCS) said.
Twenty among regime fighters and possibly Hezbollah militants were killed in clashes with the Free Syrian Army (FSA), LCCS reports.
Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said air-backed regime crackdowns killed 79 across the country on Sunday.
According to United Nations, at least 93.000 people have been killed in the more than two-year-long conflict.
