BAGHDAD
Car bombs which detonated simultaneously killed 25 people and wounded 117 others on Tuesday in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Security sources told AA that explosions took place in the district of Sadr and areas with a concentrated Shiite population.
The bomb attacks targeted commercial areas, resulting in deaths among the civilian population.
Formerly, nine car bombs had triggered simultaneously in Baghdad, killing at least 19 and injuring more than 50, security sources told the Anadolu Agency.
Explosions took place in the district of Sadr and areas where Shiite population is concentrated, they said.
Death toll is feared to rise as nearby buildings and offices received heavy damage from the blasts.
