- Hundreds of workers at Britain’s largest west coast dock have launched a two-week strike due to a dispute over pay.
- Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have signed a protocol to end border clashes that claimed scores of lives, Kyrgyz media reported.
- Germany's producer prices increased by 45.8% year-on-year in August, hitting a historical high level.
