• North Korea has fired a suspected ballistic missile, the Japanese Prime Minister's Office announced Thursday.

• US President Joe Biden "is disappointed" by an OPEC+ decision to cut oil production, which he said would have negative effects on lower and middle-income nations, officials said Wednesday.

• Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during an informal EU summit in the Czech capital of Prague on Thursday, state media said.

• Anti-Muslim attitudes are widespread in Germany, according to a recent study conducted by the Expert Council on Integration and Migration.

• After Sweden's public broadcaster aired content insulting Türkiye and its president, the Nordic country's ambassador was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

• Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu spoke to his Czech counterpart over the phone on Wednesday.

• Over 1,100 people have been injured from a 5.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Iran's northwestern province of West Azerbaijan in the early hours of Wednesday, according to a health official.

• Brazil's two presidential candidates are beating the campaign trail this week as they seek to gain crucial endorsements ahead of a second runoff vote on Oct. 30.

• NASA and SpaceX launched a new crew including the first Native American woman into space Wednesday on the SpaceX Dragon rocket at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

• In sports news, the Turkish women's national volleyball team qualified Wednesday for the 2022 FIVB Women's World Championship quarterfinals with two matches to spare.

Portugal and Spain included war-torn Ukraine on Wednesday in the bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
