• Tesla CEO Elon Musk completed his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, firing three key senior executives from the company as he prepared to chart a new course for the microblogging website, according to multiple reports.

• The European Central Bank hiked rates by 75 basis points, the third major increase in a row, bringing borrowing costs to their highest levels in more than a decade to tackle record euro-zone inflation.

• The State Department ordered the departure of family members of US government employees from Nigeria’s capital Abuja, citing a heightened risk of terrorist attacks.

• Iraq formed its new government after almost 13 months as the parliament gave a confidence vote to the Cabinet led by Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.

• Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow has not considered and does not consider itself an enemy of the West, while Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is ready to ensure its interests at the negotiating table with Ukraine.

• Lebanese President Michel Aoun signed a maritime border demarcation deal with Israel mediated by the US.

• Ukraine’s sole power grid operator announced that it will implement a temporary blackout in several regions of the country, including the capital Kyiv, due to overnight Russian shelling.

• Britain’s Prince Harry’s highly anticipated memoir will be released in January next year, announced Penguin Random House, the book’s publisher.

• Iran summoned Germany’s ambassador over "meddlesome" remarks by a number of German officials concerning the ongoing unrest in the country.

• With a high diplomatic agenda, Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to host NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Sweden’s new Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson during the first week of November, according to Turkish presidential sources.

• The Egyptian pound lost over 12%, falling to a record low of 22.4526 against the dollar in offshore trading after the Central Bank said it is opting for a more flexible currency regime.
