GAZIANTEP (AA) - July 31, 2012 - Al-Jazeera TV channel's Ankara correspondent, Omar Hashram, said on Tuesday that there was a slaughter and massacre in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Speaking to reporters in south-eastern province of Gaziantep where he is receiving medical treatment after getting injured in Aleppo on Monday, Hashram said that he was happy to report the ongoing massacre in Aleppo but became sad when they were targeted.
"Four shrapnel pieces hit me but my condition is fine now and there is no life threatening situation," Hashram indicated.
The situation in Aleppo made me more sad than my injuries, Hashram noted.
"I am a journalist who knows Aleppo well. I shot a documentary there in the past. It was a nice city but I only saw demolished buildings, shivered corpses and families there recently. A bomb falls on the city every minute. I have not seen any military target getting hit. It is only the buildings of ordinary individuals that are getting hit. This is what we saw," Hashram said.
"The last 2-3 days in Aleppo were spent under tough conditions. There was an atmosphere that hurt our morale and nerves. Aleppo is like a hell presently," Hashram also said.
