Air Serbia launches Nis-Istanbul direct flights

BELGRADE, Serbia

Serbia’s national flag carrier on Wednesday announced that direct flights between Nis and Istanbul began on Tuesday night.

Air Serbia’s 144-seat Airbus A319 will fly on the route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Bosko Rupic, a senior sales manager at Air Serbia, said that it is important that the south of Serbia is connected to Istanbul.

"Turkey is an extremely important market for us and we are very pleased that by improving our offer we will contribute to strengthening commercial and tourist activity between our two countries," said Rupic.

Turkiye and Serbia enjoy friendly bilateral ties. As a result of good relations, more tourists and business people travel between the two countries.

Turkey's AnadoluJet recently began flight operations from Ankara to Serbia’s capital Belgrade, while Turkish Airlines increased its daily flights from Istanbul to Belgrade to three.
