Hosted by the Macedonian news agency MIA, the meeting was attended by the Anadolu Agency (AA), Agerpres (Romania), ANA-MPA (Greece), ATA (Albania), CNA (South Cyprus), TANJUG (Serbia) and HINA (Croatia).
Bosnia-Herzegovina's FENA joined the meeting as an observer.
Representing the AA, Director of the Balkans Regional Office Omer Cetres provided information to the participants on AA's centennial vision and new services such as the Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian, Arabic and Russian edition services as well as the news academy, war correspondents' training program and finance terminal.
Other participants gave information on their agencies as well and underlined that they were negatively affected by the economic crisis in Europe.
The participants expressed that they were impressed with the AA's projects realized in only a single year.
One of the topics discussed extensively at the Skopje meeting was the protection of copyright rights of news agencies.
ABNA-SE was established on June 26, 1995 in Thessaloniki with an initiative of the Greek news agency MPA. ABNA-SE's first meeting was held in Antalya on December 14 and 15, 1995.
