BEIRUT
At least six people were killed and 20 others were injured late Saturday in a suicide bombing attack in the eastern Lebanese city of Hermel, considered a stronghold of the Hezbollah Shiite militant group.
The suicide bombing rammed his vehicle into a gas station, security sources told Anadolu Agency.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The so-called Lebanon's Al-Nusra Front has claimed a mid-January suicide car bombing in Hermel, which killed at least three people and wounded 50 others.
The militant group said the attack was in retaliation for what it described as Hezbollah's "crimes against Sunni women and children in Syria."
Military involvement by Hezbollah in the ongoing Syria conflict has drawn condemnation from Sunni Muslims in and outside Lebanon.
This was the second attack claimed by the shadowy group against Hezbollah since December.
The group first made headlines after it had claimed responsibility for a mortar attack on Hermel on December 17.
Lebanon has been ravaged by a series of deadly attacks in recent weeks.
