Five workers died Monday morning when the roof of a hangar collapsed during construction at an international airport in central Indonesia
.
Around 14 others were taken to Bhayangkara Mappaodang hospital, in Makassar, South Sulawesi with serious injuries.
A public relations official at the airport told The Anadolu Agency that the incident occurred at 9:28 a.m. (0119GMT) as workers were installing a steel roof truss at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport.
"As the truss was being welded into place, the framework tilted resulting in the central part of the roof frame collapsing on a number of workers who were underneath," Rio Hendarto told AA.
"Four project workers died on the spot, and one in the hospital. The rest of those injured are being treated in hospital," he added.
