DAMASCUS
President Bashar Assad regime forces held air and land operations in various provinces in Syria on Thursday, killing 39 people including three women and a child, according to London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights Watchdog (SNHR).
The watchdog stated the regime forces raided opposition-controlled areas, killing 15 people in the suburbs of Damascus, 14 in Idlib, 5 in Aleppo, two each in Quneitra and Deir az-Zor and one in Daraa.
The Local Coordination Committees of Syria (LCC) reported that regime army helicopters dropped several barrel bombs in Mesekin Hananu, where many buildings were either damaged or demolished.
The LCC said that intensive clashes occurred between the Islamic-Front-linked Tawhid Brigade and the regime forces around the Nayrab military airport in Aleppo.
It further said that regime forces launched heavy weapon attacks on the districts of Douma, Jobar, Harasta, Qaboun and Darayya in Damascus, adding that the death toll from starvation keeps increasing in besieged Yarmouk where in desperate attempts to stay alive, two people were poisoned by herbs they ate.
