KIEV (AA) - A suicide bomber on Friday blew himself up while being interrogated in a police station on the Ukrainian-Russian border, killing himself and wounding two police officers, a Ukrainian official said.
The suspect arrived at the checkpoint in a bus from Moldova and he was spotted after he tried to hide himself in order to avoid the security at the checkpoint, said Sergey Astahov, head of the Ukrainian border service, in a press release.
The suspect used a fake Russian passport and was taken to the police station for questioning.
While he was being questioned he detonated explosives concealed under his clothing and blew himself up.
The Ukrainian official did not provide any information on the suspect's identity or the possible motives for the attack.
