Set up in 1977 in Victoria country of Australia, the AUSTURK Saturday Turkish Language School taught 15 thousand students Turkish language in 35 years.
Isa Gungor, chairman of the executive board of AusTurk Saturday Language School, told AA on Friday that they are the first school which teaches English and every Saturday they give 4 hours of Turkish lessons.
Head Teacher of AusTurk Saturday Language School, Tevfik Kerimoglu, stressed that Turkish language is especially important part of the university entrance examination in Victoria county and said, "If Turkish is one of the fourth successful lectures of students, then it adds them a lot when their entrance points for universities are calculated."
One of the students said that she finds Turkish useful for her education and added, "First four lectures you take is really important when you want to enter university. Turkish is one of my lectures. As I come from a Turkish background, my mother helps me at home too."
