Turkish stock exchange ends Tuesday in the red

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 12,374.26 points, down 0.56% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 12,437.59, the BIST 100 index dropped 69.66 points from Monday’s close.

The day’s low was 12,314.32, while the daily high was 12,445.50.

A total of 28 indices rose in value, while 69 closed in the red.

Transaction volume reached 107.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.17 billion), while the total market value of the index stood at 12.14 trillion liras ($247.5 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 49.00 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate stood at 55.57 and the GBP/TRY at 64.75.

Gold was priced at $4,162.80 per ounce, while Brent crude futures stood at $98.37.
