Turkish modular builder Karmod completes container office project in UAE
Container office, installed in UAE port city of Sharjah, to serve as construction site building for a housing project
ISTANBUL
Turkish prefabricated construction firm Karmod has completed and delivered a 2-story container office project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the company said Wednesday.
The container office, installed in the UAE port city of Sharjah, will serve as the construction site building for a villa housing project, Karmod said in a statement.
Muzaffer Dogrul Erguclu, Karmod’s container export manager, said container offices are preferred for construction site mobilization because of their ergonomic design, serving projects ranging from mass housing to energy production.
Noting that the company’s structures are particularly favored in hot-climate countries such as the UAE because of their insulation performance, Erguclu said Karmod’s new-generation containers offer advantages including structural safety, ergonomic usability and high insulation standards.
“From residential projects to road construction, and from energy production to mining, our container structures are preferred for site mobilization in challenging environments due to their ergonomics,” Erguclu said. “They are especially preferred in hot-climate countries such as the UAE because of their strong insulation performance.”
Erguclu said the project spans 828 square meters and comprises 72 container units, each measuring 230 by 400 centimeters, designed as a two-story building.
“We shipped the 828-square-meter container office building by sea using a package system and completed its installation with our field teams in about 30 days,” he said. “The container office will serve as the site office for a 550-unit villa housing project in Sharjah.”
