Turkish Airlines plane diverts to India after engine warning
Flight from Kathmandu, Nepal to Turkish metropolis of Istanbul landed safely in Kolkata following technical issue, says spokesperson
ISTANBUL
A Turkish Airlines flight from the Nepalese city of Kathmandu to Istanbul was diverted to India due to a technical warning, said a spokesperson on Wednesday.
Yahya Ustun, senior vice president of communications at the airline, said that the Airbus A330 aircraft, operating flight TK727, got a warning concerning its right engine shortly after takeoff.
The plane landed safely at India's Kolkata Airport, where it is undergoing necessary checks.
The spokesperson added that a new flight plan is being arranged to ensure that the affected passengers continue their journey to Türkiye.
