BURSA, Turkey
Workers at Oyak Renault’s plant in northwest Turkey have agreed to a deal and returned to work within hours of earlier rejecting an offer.
The agreement, which came late on Tuesday night, ended 12 days of industrial action at the factory in Bursa, an Anadolu Agency correspondent at the scene reported.
The workers had been striking since May 15 for improved wages and the withdrawal of the Turkish Metal Labor Union, which they accused of failing to represent their interests, from the plant.
The Renault site is a number of auto industry sites hit by industrial action around the car-making region in recent days.
