ANKARA (AA) - Turkish President Abdullah Gul stated Wednesday "if a country's relations with another one have been cut for tens of years and if it takes a step to provide communication, we should not see it as taking a new strategic side," regarding US-Iran relations and its effects to the region.
Gul told Okaz, one of the most effective newspapers of Saudi Arabia, in an exclusive interview that sectarian tension between Muslim countries would affect the whole condition of the Islam world.
"Each country should regulate the inner side of its own home and work for the welfare and happiness of its own people before all," Gul said.
Noting also over the Syrian issue, Gul stressed the country "was consuming itself" and added that they were on the side of solutions, which would fulfill the legal demands of Syrian people.
