Two powerful earthquakes rocked the southeastern province of Sirnak on Thursday.
Bogazici University's Kandilli Observatory Center said that the first earthquake was measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale and jolted Sirnak's Ikizce town at 8:50 a.m.
According to the center, the second earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook Pinaronu village at 8:52 a.m.
The earthquake was also felt in Mardin, Siirt and Diyarbakir.
According to preliminary reports, the minaret of Kulliye Mosque in downtown Sirnak was demolished, and some houses and workplaces were damaged in the earthquake.
Moreover, Sirnak Governor Vahdettin Ozkan said nobody died in the earthquakes.
