Two die in Istanbul gun attack

ISTANBUL

Two people have died in a gun attack on a car in Istanbul.

Police said shots were fired at a moving vehicle in the Gungoren district late on Monday.

The attack took place on Inonu Street in the Akincilar neighborhood when unidentified attackers opened fire on a private vehicle with three people inside.

Although the driver's identity remains unknown, it has been reported a backseat passenger identified as Etem Sasa lost his life in the attack, while a third occupant, Firat Kiziltay, died after being shot in the back while trying to escape.

Police investigations are continuing.
