Turgut Gur, president of the Turkish Tourism Investors' Association (TYD), told AA correspondent on Friday that they plan a 25 billion USD investment for the coming 11 years and expect an income worth 60 billion USD in 2023.
He said that although Turkey has a considerable capacity, they plan to increase bed capacity to 1,500,000; the number of golf facilities to 50 and the number of marines to 70, triple the number of conventional centers and add 200 more planes to the Turkish fleet as of 2023. He added that they plan Turkey to be the 5th top tourism destination of the world by that time.
Gur said that culture, belief, health and congress tourism were getting common in the world and Turkey had the potential for those fields.
He added that Turkish tourism sector put the Asia to its agenda as it was a developing continent with a population of 3.5 billion.
