WASHINGTON
Turkish General Staff Chief Gen. Necdet Ozel met with Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the USA, at the Pantegon on Thursday.
Dempsey said that USA would like to continue the close security partnership with Turkey which is important friend and ally of USA.
According to the statement released by Scott McIlnay, spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Ozel and Dempsey discussed a series of security issues including leadership role in the region.
The statement highlighted that for the first time Ozel and Dempsey came together since Dempsey took the office. Also, Dempsay said that he was honored to host Ozel and he was excitedly looking forward to meeting with Ozel.
Ozel also paid a visit to Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense of the United States, in his office.
