A Turkish soldier was martyred and four wounded in a terrorist bomb attack in the southeastern province of Mardin, the military said Thursday.
In a statement on its website, the Turkish Armed Forces said the attack on Thursday saw PKK terrorists detonate a roadside bomb in Nusaybin district, where a counter-terrorism operation is underway.
A security source later said two further soldiers were killed in a separate roadside bomb blast in Nusaybin. Five were wounded in the incident, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking publicly.
The military also said six PKK terrorists were killed during the Nusaybin operation on Wednesday. Another four were killed in neighboring Sirnak province.
At least 60 terrorists have been killed in Nusaybin since the operation was launched two weeks ago.
More than 300 members of the security forces have been martyred since the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign in July 2015.
