Turkey’s prime minister within the framework of Sixth Global Baku Forum held multiple bilateral meetings with state officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Albania and Macedonia on Thursday.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim had met Mladen Ivanic, the Serb member of the tripartite presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Azerbaijani capital, said a statement from prime ministry.

Yildirim during the meeting with Ivanic welcomed “excellent relations” with Bosnia and Herzegovina and affirmed a willingness to further enhance cooperation in all areas.

He also expressed support to Bosnia’s integration process to the European Union and NATO, according to a statement.

Separately, he met with Moldovan President Igor Dodon and later Albanian President Ilir Meta.

Turkey expects an active participation from Albania in the fight against the Fetullah Terror Organization (FETO), the group behind 2016 defeated coup, said Yildirim during the meeting with Meta.

As Yildirim praised Turkey-Albania relations, he stated an EU membership for Albania would also be beneficial to the region.

The statement further said the prime minister had held a one-on-one meeting with Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov.

Yildirim arrived in Baku on Wednesday for a two-day visit to attend the Sixth Global Baku forum organized by the Baku-based Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
