Turkish dailies on Monday covered Turkish opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) call on the government to continue Imrali talks, 17-year-old girl who died due to leukemia prior to her graduation and the death of Aaron Swartz, digital activist and founder of the social networking site, Reddit. All of the Turkish dailies covered the opinions of the Turkish opposition in the aftermath of the killing of three women of Kurdish origin at the Kurdish Institute in Paris. "Imrali talks should continue" headlined daily MILLIYET where CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu responded from China and said, "The Imrali process should not be affected by this incident. If the government is to move this process ahead, then the talks should continue."
Most dailies covered the death of a 17-year-old girl who was diagnosed with leukemia. Upon her diagnosis her friends had started a world-wide campaign for a marrow transplant and she had an operation last month with the bone marrow provided by a Portuguese donor. "Join me at my graduation" headlined daily SABAH in regards to her farewell letter read at the funeral.
Some dailies covered the death of Aaron Swartz who is the founder of the social networking site, Reddit. Proving himself at the age of 13, honored with the "ArsDigita" award and contributing to the development of RSS, Swartz committed suicide at the age of 26, weeks prior to his trial of hacking. As a supporter of free information flow, he made online content including 1.5 million dollars worth of books and articles free and was faced with 35 years in prison.
