Turkish dailies on Monday cover the statements of PM Erdogan during his speech in Turkish province Manisa, the statements of newly appointed Interior Minister Efkan Ala and the bomb attack in Russian province Volgograd, which killed 15 people on Sunday.
Daily Star headlined “I have documents showing they collected dollars,” stated by the new Interior Minister Efkan Ala, regarding the anti-graft operation which commenced on December 17. Ala said that there have been massive purchases of dollars before the graft operation was commenced and that he has documents showing these activities.
Daily Sabah also used Ala’s remarks on the operation as its headline. “It (the operation) is almost like a coup,” Sabah headlined, explaining this headline with Ala’s statement saying that “This operation is a coup attempt, we would not let them design the politics.”
Daily Hurriyet also covered Erdogan’s statements during his speech in the Turkish province of Manisa. Hurriyet highlighted on their frontpage Erdogan’s remarks on the corruption issue, saying “I would not let go off anyone, even if it was my son.” The statement comes amid the graft case on the government.
Daily Haber Turk included another development, whereas the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of Turkey have been removed from its authority to release press statements.
The bomb attack in Russian province Volgograd, which killed 15 and wounded over 70 people, dominated the frontpages of the dailies.
Meanwhile, most newspapers bring to their frontpage Fenerbahce’s 5-1 victory against Kayserispor in last night's match in the Turkish Spor Toto Super League.
